A very nice passing move from Chicago in the second half but Artur`s left leg saved what would have been a great goal. Well scored Deek! The 34 y o Blanca ran by Elvis, was sent wide by Boruc and Pressley still couldn`t get back. The Mexican Di Canio!
Hmmm watched the tape again and it doesn't really get any better watching it.
Blanco is actually 10 months older than Elvis, yet left him for dead as if he was 10 years younger. That is worrying me like hell - if he is a first choice pick this year.
Have to agree with your last article Kevin regarding going to the US - that is unless we travel there with the intention of taking the Americans seriously.
If we are going to have a marcomms startegy involving tours, merchandising and playing games then all part sof the marketing package have to be 'singing from the same hymn sheet'. At present they are not.
We are attempting to penetrate very competitive markets through a combination of methofs including purchasing players from particular countries. I would say that it is because of Celtic's unique fan base that we are being successful at present, rather than through the current marcomms strategy currently being employed by Celtic.
Don't get me wrong I commend the SSM on what he is doing, I just don't see all parts of the 'Club' working together to achieve the overall aims. If we don't take the games seriously, which are the most public part of the marketing strategy, then we are sending out the wrong message as a Club. Similarly with the Shearer fiasco a few years ago.
I go to most of the games we have down here and believe me, it is mainly English based Tims that attend. Including many who have started to follow the Hoops since the MON days. Their numbers are dropping. When I came back from Oz after Seville, there were over 70 Tims whop were part of my local CSC in Rugby. Now they struggle to fill a minibus to Peterborough.
Many of those 'fans' have begun to drift back to doing whatever most of them did before. I may have personal issues with them as being classed as fans, but I do appreciate that it is these 'fans' we need to retain, in order to keep our brand as high as possible. They are the extra people buying the merchandise that make Nike happy with us. If these fans stop buying these jerseys will the interest we currently have remain?
Still hope to pay the Geordies back for the Shearer fiasco tomorrow night. Hail hail one and all
Another new strip on sale today. Without a proper collar it doesn`t work for the under 8s or over 40s. Caveat emptor or words to that effect. What one of the forty shades of green are they using now? :-) For everyone who is buying it, happy wearing! Newcastle are one of those team who look good on paper, fortunately the game tonight will be on grass. I actually had a wee read at the Celtic View this morning and the references to high heat and playing against players who are in midseason are there. However there is also talk of the quality of the new players and the great team spirit. Forza the Bhoys!
ian- i like the top..i think it’s a nice shade of green..was going to purchase this morning after hospital, another 4 weeks in plaster, but was running late for bus back to work..maybe mrsg will feel sorry and purchase it fir me...
newcastle have looked guid on paper for years and i’m sure big sam the bung man will have them hard working, boring and long bawish.
the celtic view i noticed it mentioned the heat and altitude quite a lot also that the spirit was great but did you know we have a young squad? I think it was only mentioned 1000 times.....
baldy- i’m looking forward to tonight as well..this is a step up and a chance to put one of the wannabe clubs on it’s arse.
i take it sam was as tactful as a broon paper bag in a supermarket car park?
Just leaving work before heading to senior Baldy's to take in the game.
Sam, more or less said that Viduka should stop playing international football now and that if he does he will get the rest he needs as he won't be playing 'stupid friendlies'.
FFS now Newcastle are bigger than Australia are they? What was the last Cup they won? At least the Aussies have won Oceania Trophies.
My bro Evil, has just travelled to Canada (Igloo Dwelling Land is what he actually referred it to) and texted me the first sight that greets him at the small airport he has landed at in the back of the beyond. Small lad wearing the full brand new home strip as soon as he cleared customs.

Looking forward to the game on Setanta vision.
Hope to see us bury Allardyce tonight after his arrogant comments in the Herald this morning regarding Viduka.
Hail hail
