Celtic 5 (Five) Hearts 0

There is some games that, when you leave the ground are instantly forgettable. By the time you get back to the car or bus the topic of conversation never is the game apart from the opening gambit "That was shite"

Yesterday was not one. Yesterday was the reason that, like a sweaty junkie looking for a fix you pay hundreds of pounds a year following your team. Games like yesterday make you forget last seasons dire performances.

It was in the water yesterday. It was on the cards, there was something different about the whole atmosphere in the surrounding areas outside Parkhead. The hotbox that is the London Road Tavern was jumping and the atmosphere was electric. The queues on the way in were buzzing , the stadium was expectant.

Maybe being behind and playing catch up suits the support. Maybe the fact that we will get some sort of challenge this year has wet ted the appetite of the fans who treated trips to CP like a night at the opera.

Or it could just be the fact that we have been bloody entertaining over the last few weeks, so for the first time since in around 18 months we are looking like a good day out rather than a bore fest watching us game fully passing the ball around and across the back line at slow speed.

Being entertaining means that when we lose the ball we look as shoddy as a five year old school uniform after his first playtime when his jumper has been used as a goalpost.

But i can handle that. The artistry and creativity not seen since Burn's Celtic was a joy. The fact we done it to a team that since Strachan has been our manager have regularly gave us a game made it even more impressive. Yes, Hearts are poor, a mess and a shambles but how i enjoyed it.

Seeing there little band of "fans" disappear after the third goal was great. Must admit i love scoring last minutes winners against them. Last minute winners are sore to take for the opposition fans. Joy then despair, your plans for the evening ruined with a flick of a stirkers boot or a flap or a goalie glove.

They had 81 minutes yesterday to contemplate their ruined day. They were never at the races. Donati, Brown, Naka and Aiden repeatably teased, flicked, ran, dummied, shimmied and passed their way round them. Skippy, used his, what was described by an older fan, "Dalgleish Arse" to bounce away any unwanted attention from the thugs in maroon jersey's.

Thing is think we can get better. Caldwell and Mick look to be a better balance than Mick and any other we have seen, Mark Wilson is steady while Lee Naylor must come out of his Chris Morris syndrome soon. Up front the pairing of Skippy and JVOH will only get better and once Skippy scores his first competitive goal then, i feel i will be a tenner down by Christmas.

All in we lack the balance between defensive solidity and attacking flair. But it's an enjoyable lack of balance and after all we are Celtic and when did we do anything simple?

Forza

Yes, a mixture but an exciting mixture! The best win at Celtic park since the Marnocks were dispatched 4-1 on day one last season. I was a bit disappointed to see aiden come off because defenders can`t handle him late in matches but the job was done. Well done Bhoys!
A grand day out!!!!! :-)

Ian correct a mixture, a mixture that will have us pulling our hair out when it doesn't work.

Was having a wee look through my last reports Donati seems to be my new favourite player.....

Am i willing to put up with the faults and maybe some dodgy results all i the name of entertainment? Hell yeah....
