Celtic 5 ICT 0

Interesting choice of wording.

Lunchtime kick offs, are a pain if yer involved but are brilliant if yer not involved and the result goes yer way. The sound of a bubble bursting was heard loud and clear from Edinburg at 2.20 yesterday afternoon, a sound so deafening that it made the Springfield Vaults jump.

But, we still had work to do and we went aboot it, skillfully, pacefully and manfully. We have artisans and the green pitch is their canvas. Guys like Donati, Brown, Naka and Aiden are just fitba players. When they are in the mood, which seems to be often nowadays, they are worth the admission money alone.

There was no better place to be than a wind swept rain soaked Celtic Park yesterday. Watching Aiden terrorising, oor friend Ross Tokley, Donati being the conductor and scoring one of the most cheekiest goals ever seen at CP, Arfur proving he is one of the best keepers aboot and Hesslelink showing that fortune favours the lazy.

The move for oor fourth goal is what "team 3" is all aboot. Passing and movement wie no shortage of vision and bravery on the ball. Make no mistake the way we play gives teams chances to create and trouble us as the Inversenkie done yesterday, we will need to tighten up on Tuesday against the Brazilian tinged Shakter.

Will Hartley come for Aiden as he did on that evening in Moscow? Would be hard for Aiden to get dropped after yesterdays performance but it's horses for courses and extra defensive nonce is needed. Then again wie oor team attack seems to be the best form of defence but playing Naka and Aiden may seem a risk too far.

We have a big week this week. Two away trips, which potentially could end wie two defeats but we go in to it wie confidence and goals. There's no sense of fear as whisper it for all oor faults we are no a bad side and an entertaining one at that.

That's all we asked for and that's what we are getting.

Huns found out in their first real game of the season - no depth of squad to handle 2 games a week and the CL hasnae started yet!
Love it - ha ha ha !!!

As for us - what can you say? Night and day compared with last season's fare and you get the impression there is more to come.

One player who impressed me on Saturday was Scott McDonald.
I could be wrong but I think he was involved in all 5 goals.

I think he'll be a great signing for us, he has pace, he is tenacious, and has an eye for the final pass or cross. He is also there or thereabouts in the box ready to pounce for goal.

Don't want to speak too highly of him at this early stage but, if he can maintain this form, he could be a cross between wee Buzzbomb and Wispy (praise indeed but that's the thought what strikes me when I watch him moving about up front.)
Only time will tell...

One good thing about our recent signings: Skippy, Skoosh and Donati, is that they are all hungry. They'll be desperate to win their first medals.
They came to the right place.
:o)

Just watched the goals on C67. Really good display by all accounts. Entertainment is all I want and we are getting it now.

Great end to the weekend, and sets us up nicely for Shakter. No harm in getting some shooting practice in beforehand is there.

Only disappointing aspect to me was Ireland's performance against Georgia at the WC. Pish is being polite. If ever a team has peaked too early then it looks like it is this one. Really thought we had a chance of getting to the semis and then who knows what - genuinely disappointed with both the attitude and the application of the team.

Still one can always rely on the Springboks to deliver a humiliation upon England in both the Rugby and the Cricket.

Great haircut that fella has in the piccy by the way.

Hail hail

Hearts weren`t that bad against the Celts. I think we said that here.
The team fell away a wee bit on Saturday, how did ICT fail to score?
No great comfort in the Sunday newspapers about the Bhoys going top.
Onto the CL and not the ideal first match but it`s about the six matches! The pressure is on the home team. :-)

I feel skippy needs to take his chances....he's a striker he needs to score but his performances have been suprising to say the least.

Will tend to disagree i thought Hearts were brutal against us...thing is have the h*ns been found oot to be a one man band?

I saw the first 25mins of the h*ns game- i'm watching the highlights just now on Scotsport..bring back Arfur Montford....- and to tell u the truth it would get fitba stopped.

Car crash fitba at it's best or worst...maybe we are being spoiled though:-0

ICT had plenty of chances against us which is a worry we canny let a decent European side get that space against us or i will be behind ma couch for the duration
