Man Utd Take Fans Season Book For Non Attendance..

In this international week, news is thin on the ground but this story from cheer up alan shearer is shocking and scary in equal measure.

Last season Celtic changed the criteria for allocating the cup final tickets. Usually what happens is that attendance at the semi final means ticket for the final. Celtic last year counted attendance at certain games, St Mirren & Falkirk in the CIS Cup, Dumbarton at home, Livi away and the semi final of the Scottish cup were all mentioned in dispatches.

Now, 3 of these games were badly attended cup ties at Celtic Park. For me that it was no coincidence that all the bhoys i know that were members of the home direct debate cup scheme got shiny briefs for the Cup Final no problem.

Very similar tactics, but not as harsh, to Man Utd eh?

Have we just seen the future?

Trouble is the fan loves his club more than the club loves the fan.

So, especially for a team like MU or even Celtic who will never really be short of bums on seats, its a relationship that destined to end in tears.
Fans cry (some more often than others), but I've never seen a club shed a tear.

Hope the guy who gave up his season ticket as a matter of principle finds a new love as suggested in grass roots football. Don't think so though, cos like us, his team is in his genes.

Doomed, ah tell ye, wur a' dooomed!

That is mad. We'll be next I reckon.

Hope the SSM doesn't get any ideas from this.

i'm worried we are already going down this road, fact of the matter is we struggled to sell season books this season but if the level of entertainment we have seen so far continues then next season may be different.

Celtic could pull a stunt like this if they get a waiting list again.

Thing is, i think celtic trying to get us to put everything from merchindise, pies to celtic views on our smart cards is the next level to seeing oor worth as a fan.
