A Celtic Spin....

I was perusing the official site, trying to work oot a way of getting tickets for the Gretna game withoot phoning and hanging on for half an hour only to get cut off or trying to log in to the on-line thingy only to find oot it disnny like ma password, when this stat jumped oot at me...

Gordon Strachan’s side have only conceded one goal at home this season – against Spartak Moscow – so will go into Wednesday’s game against the UEFA Champions League holders full of confidence

Talk aboot clutching at straws. It looks like the Hoopy site has taken a tabloid stance when quoting stats. No mention that AC are unbeaten against us, that they huvnae lost a goal on their last three visits or that the Hoops have only scored 2 goals in their last six Champion League outings..also Celtic's home record against Italian sides being won 3 drawn 3 and lost 1.

Put yer money on 0-0 or a 1-0 me thinks....

No idea

hoping for a result tomorrow - anyone just as long as we don't get beat.

Lyon to show some 'French Flair' tonight and get some revenge for Agent Le Guen.

Gretna should take care of itself. To be honest, we should be capable of putting out any X1 and getting a result against them from the size of our squad.

A Grtena Team could easily be

Brown

Caldwell, JFK, Bobo, O'Dea

Mcgeady, Brown, Hartley, Riorden

Majic
Killen

That team 'should' be good enough to take care of Gretna, and allow many of the first team to have a well earned break after Wednesday night.

Doubt it would ever happen though.

Sorry Lhads....will try and update at the back of 4 today....been busy

Yes,seven i'm going to murderwell on Sunday....maybe try and meet..no bevvy i will have the motor..

Baldy- French flair....never saw the game but....it has to go doon as the greatest EVER Scottish team result away in CL history...a perfect away game...3 shots at goal 3 goals...70% 30% possession for the home side as well.

Anyone else that stats that Lyon huvnae scored in their last 4 European games or won in their last six is just quoting stats as he is jealous.....

Quite like Bryan Ferry.....

New post at 4.30 surely....

too work...

Hats off to the huns, they did the bizz again. Their tactics were spot on and I was very impressed by their cool defensive display.
Can't say anything else but "well done".

In saying that, Lyon are crap.
In fact fitba in France is a crap standard - they are swamped with money and any decent player gets out to a major league.
In fact that's the difference between the decent Lyons team of last year and this year - half the team - the best players- was sold.

Further evidence of crap level of French fitba will be provided in tonight's Liverpool v Marseille - mark my words.

Still 3-0 away from home against any team is a class result - and maybe we should be starting to take them a wee bit more seriously.

Hope we can make things happen tonight!

I watched Arsenal on the TV and the commentator thought that he was bringing good news from Lyon. :-)
Co commentator Jim Beglin showed the indifference that I felt. It`s Celtic for me! Go for it tonight!

Didn't see any football last night 8>). Taking the eldest on a tour of the local secondary. Got a bit of a shock when I heard what had happened.

Interested that Beglin showed indifference to the Huns result but his commentary a few times on our games has irritated the hell out of me.

When we have been on ITV4 down here, while you probably get to see the match on STV or Grampian, his comments on us have been less than complementary and he has always struck me as too 'Pro-English' for my tastes. He has dismissed Celtic and our acheivements a bit too easily for my liking. This may well extend to Der Hun rather than any dislike of them and who they are. Have no examples to give, just been my impression of the man.

Fair play to TFOD - they have now done 4 times what we are still dreaming of doing. Feel too many people have dismissed them too often. One thing about the Orcs, they will always come out fighting as a club, while I fear we are guilty of complacency too easily, IMO.

In trouble already for tonight as it's the wife's birthday and I am out to see the match. Celtic better not let me down, cos losing and then having to suffer Mrs. Baldy moaning at me for deserting her on her birthday, might be too much to bare.

Come on the Hoops
