"Deal With It"

When I typed that GS seemed to be getting his excuses in early, I did so half jokingly but deep down I was worried. But again oor manger seems to be one for the most illogical of quotes and views on the game.

"We did make chances but didn't take them. They made chances and took them."

Right, we made two half chances- Jaro and Skippy- and a stick on chance, from the bemusing Donati, but other than that we created nothing, which is becoming the norm against r*ngers.

Read somewhere that GS said we would have to “deal with it” regarding the result. But how often do we have to deal wie performances from players who seem ill equipped and ill prepared when they take the field in big games.

Saturdays performance comes as no surprise to all of us who have watched Celtic under Strachan. We can be great or we can be so pish poor it’s embarrassing.

Also how long will we need to “Deal with” strange tactical tweaks to the team? Ok, GS went for the “new black” formation of 4-4-1-1, which I agreed wie, but…O’Dea at right back, Regi Donati as the deep lying midfielder and Sno who has been poor all season playing further forward was bemusing to say the least.

The whole blame can’t all be laid at the managers door. While some paid for being oot of position, half fit and rusty others were just poor. We handed them a victory without laying a glove on them, which is unacceptable.

Did Smith tactically out fox GS? You have to say yes, but a blind man who has lost his guide dug could tell you where oor weak spots are, it’s not rocket science.

Suppose I’ll just need to take the managers words to heart and just “Deal with it”.

Forza

As Lee Dixon said last night on TV, stop the crosses! Get good at the basics!
Celtic teams have gone to Ibrox so often and looked physically weaker. I think that the approach by them is so aggressive that it`s difficult for them not to rise to the occasion whereas our boss still believes in football. It would be interesting to see how a team like Arsenal or Liverpool would cope against this. The good news is that their strength can be turned into their weakness. Look at the evidence, the Celts are equal top despite having played 6 away games and having won only 3 out of 4 home games.
It`s not unusual for new players to contribute heehaw on their first visit to the bigotdome. The true character of the players is how they react to this setback. We will be watching.

Yes indeed. Do you think it might yet come down to which team ends up being the most inconsistent, and if so, who do you think it will be?

Ian when you said you wondered how a team like Arsenal or Liverpool would cope against their aggresive style, I was going to say that we'll find out soon enough when Barca come to town tomorrow.

However, their luck just goes on and on, I've just read that Barca are in the middle of an injury crisis with Deco the latest one to pull out.

You couldn't make it up. I wouldn't bet against them doing something tomorrow :o(

Still enough of them, let's focus on the bhoys. Hopefully, we're getting back to something like a more recognizable line-up. Obviously got to try and keep it really tight for 30minutes or so, be good on the basics as said before, then go to work on them.
How good would 3pts be !?!

Be surprised if Mick starts tho'.

I would be very surprised if Mick is called on and I would even be surprised if felt comfortable during the flight to Portugal. He was unconscious and GS was saying that half time was spent worrying about Mick rather than sorting things.
Killen?

I would not be happy if Mick plays against Benfica. For me that is too much of a risk. When you are concussed playing the eggchasing it's an automatic 2 week ban, if your knocked out then it becomes 4 weeks.

As much as I would like to see Mick play, I believe that it is too much of a risk for the next 7-10 days at least.

Where was Killen at the weekend? If he's not deemed good enough to be JVOH's replacement when he's injured - why sign him?

Looked at CQN this morning (sado-masachist am I). Now we have people saying we shouldn't call our players by a nickname (as is the case with Mick - sorry Stephen). If punters can worry about this or whether an individual refers to our manager by his first or surname rather than the fact we have got humped by our biggest rivals with barely a whimper then you really do have to wonder.

Apparently it is rude to refer to an individual by their surname, apparently it is disrespectful. At my school it is what we did - staff and pupils. I call most of my mates by their surname or derivatives of it. I really am gobsmacked now as apparently I have been rude for all these years.

Still Up the Barca tomorrow night!!

Hail hail

I think that there is a rule for u21s for a head injury, very wise but strange that it`s only for young players!
Killen must have been/is injured. If we canny call Mick Mick what can we call him? No, on this site it`s Mick!
Mr Meister, you are not at school now!
Almost forgot, the win for RSA on Saturday was God`s savlon for us Celts.:-)

Ian for once Mr Dixon speaks sense, that weakness in oor game has been their since the pre-season game at newcastle.

Also i agree their strenght is also a limitation if we find the balance then between fitba and being physical their will only be one winner...

Chris O- we will be more conistant as we have the better players..i hope

Six and Baldy- Mick should not play, he should not be risked.

Baldy- i had a look on CQN...it's Mick and if i want to call oor Zico Zico and Broony Broony i will

Don't know aboot Kilen....

Thought aboot the Killen thing...NZ game was moved to wednesday from last saturday so i can only presume that he was knackered.

Mind you it looked like Naka had had a 12,000 round trip..

The liverpool, arsenal thing...they have players who are willing to be brave on the ball and impose their style on the game

Us on Saturday had Jiri, Donati, Naka and Broon...all who didnae want to be brave on the ball...

Chris O- i said today we could not beat r*ngers all season and still win the league..

Their lack of style is ok for the majority of the scottish games but has been proved when the route one stuff disnny work they struggle
