Get yer excuses in early....

“Physically, it’s going to be a problem and mentally it’s the same. You have to deal with that, but it’s hard sometimes.“You won’t find players at their sharpest. I know for a fact that you would get a better game if the players from both sides had an extra two days of rest.”

Oor manager has come oot wie some “classic Strachan” in his time but getting his excuses in before the game is even guid for him. More worryingly I’m sure he mentioned the aforementioned lack of mental and physical sharpness before the last abject performance at Mordor.

Am I right in thinking that Scott Cuthbert played at RB with the reserves recently? I saw him and Bobo both well into the training on the TV. Pressley was training alongside them too.
As for having more rest, I think that the Scotland team needed a few extra days after the effort put in against Ukraine. That was amazing!
I think if any player will be risked it will be Caldwell. Hartley and Brown have hamstring injuries and won`t be risked. :-(

Only a fool would predict etc etc, so all I'm going to say is that I would be happy enough with 4 points from the next two games.

Intenationals have upset our rhythm and given us other injury worries, but it's much the same for our next two opponents I would think.

It will be great to get back to the real thing at 16:00 tomorrow (ko time here)- although there's still another 2 of these pesky rugby thingies to get thru.
C'mon the Argies and ah hope ye baith lose in the other match.

Ian- Scott Cuthbert, i think this has been a nasty rumour...some said he played RB for Scotland the other week when it was Considine from the sheepies that played.

Think the desperation due to the lack of full backs is causing mass panic...next thing they say Sno will be playing striker for holland...what do u mean he did?

Six- 4 points i would take that as well, wie bells and knobs on!!!!

i want a performance full of heart and passion....something that has been missing i also want to do it the Celtic way...

Johnny Doyle RIP....

Lunchtime KO? Nearly missed that.

Skoosh & Jiri - back feel better already. Bring it on.

Great stuff from the Argies - the french don't like it up them!

"Allez les Celtiques" !!!

Six,
I saw a few minutes of the rugby in the second half and Argentina scored a good try.
Another dose of a witless torture of a radio commentary from the Bigotdome to look forward to. This time last week I was on my way to the Pantheon. Good luck Bhoys!
As for the big rugby match, the radio and TV coverage is a big heavy blanket. Come on the Bhoys!
Oh aye, Forza Bhoys!

The BBC/Scotland team:
Boruc
Caldwell O`Dea McManus Naylor;
Nakamura Brown Donati McGeady;
Jarosik McDonald

I`m not too sure about that! Oh well! Allez Bhoys!

Quick HT impression:
We are being physically dominated (ie kicked off the park and stretched off). We are the ones who are getting the yellow cards!

We are also the ones trying to play fitba' but it doesn't look like we will get anything from this today

Surely Aiden has to come on?

Quick FT assessment:
We weren't at the races today - ref didn't help "of course" with his record 9 yellows for Celtic - but we are too lightweight for this type of combat.

Lack of quality signings in sensitive areas this summer is coming home to roost.
Although we are still top of the league, we have handed the initiative to them AGAIN!

Walking wounded going to Lisbon now
:o(

Hope big Mick has nothing serious and recovers well.

Just gutted.

The application was poor. Yes 9 bookings didn't help but if you are going to get booked at least make sure that they know you are there. Go in hard. we didn't - just a little late too often, allowing McCurry to do his best for them.

Knew we were going to be facing 14 men, have said it often enough on this board. However not to fight is inexcusable. Sad to say that if Donati refuses to tackle one more player this year, then he is my candidate for the Regi Blinker Award already for this season.

Sno - if you want to go, then as soon as a team gives us £1.5m and a 20% sell on fee then see you.

Not impressed with our tactics and our application. How can this team play so well against Milan, then perform like this so easily against the Huns, Shakter and Gretna?

Going out tonight in Rugby and if they f-ing win as well against the Springboks that will just make my weekend complete.

Still at least many wives will be resting easy tonight, knowing that their Orc husbands will not be returning home to take it out on them.

Another setback and hopefully we`ll see a quick recovery. As for the rugby that just doesn`t compete but that could be famous last words! :-)
Haven`t seen the game, just had to endure the triumphant commentary on Radio Scotland.
We shall be back!

Ian - Having to dodge more drunken gits, who know as much about Rugby as I Know about crochet, really is not going to be fun tonight.

They'll all be bedecked in St. Georges Crosses, singing the West Indian Spiritualist Song (Why sing that - I don't get it?) and then kicking F@%k out of each other. rather like the Huns - don't you agree.

If they get beat at least the majority will go home early and I'll have some satisfaction knowing that at least one team in green won today, while I drown my sorrows in a much quieter pub.

Had to go out to the supermarket. :-( Still feel bad.
Hope you have a good evening Baldymeister! :-) I suppose it would be better if the `boks won tonight. :-)
9 yellow cards! Think of all the hammer throwing teams who have been to Celtic Park and left with a couple of bookings.
That`s why we`re paranoid!
