Gretna 1 Celtic 2

Strange thing is fitba. I mean yer team has just beaten the European champions and then are six minutes from one of the most- would have been the third in Strachans reign- embarrassing results in oor history.

Strange thing is fitba. A game where yer manager gives job's for the bhoys a new slant by playing a midfielder at right back just to give him a game, then brings on a winger at right back for a centre back then brings on a centre midfielder at centre forward to pump high balls too and watches a centre forward- who we were glad was left on the park right enough- plough aboot, adding to the notion that he only plays fitba as he is the only New Zelander that canny play rugby.

Even stranger thing that fitba is, is the fact that yer manager the blames the
ball for his teams brutal, inept, terrible display and then says

"So I told the players to play reality football.

"It is in the players' mindset to play entertaining football but it wasn't working, it was horrendous to watch so we needed to get back to reality.

I would rather get the fantasy fitba of midweek than the reality that was served up today. None of the 11 got passmarks. It was one of those games to forget as soon as the final whistle went. I'm sure the management and the players feel exactly the same.

A Roy Aitken type of player is required for these type of games. Any ideas?

Tom 'Huddler'stone at Spurs

Kevin McDonald at Dens?

Adam Vir.......Sorry

Three points - relief all over Baldy household. Performance, well there wasn't one and if I was JFK this morning I'd be looking for a chat with the manager ASAP.

NZ - Didn't surprise me to see them go out of the RWC. They have a streak of arrogance about them which continually lets them down at the RWC.

England - Lucky gets

WTF? IT have suddenly given me back ma access.....

I don't think the team lack effort...Brown was constantly fouled anytime he drove us on, Donati was charging aboot trying to make things happen but was trying too hard.....and from my low to the ground vantage point Mick was not shy at screaming encouragement...just a pity he husnae got the Bears ability to drive the team onwards...again a lower league level mob was allowed to boot us of the park withoot any action being taken...

Dundee and Gretna will do what the h*ns will do...

JFK, i noticed GS and TB having a word as soon as he left the pitch i also noticed Deek disappearing up the tunnel at the same time...

Given time and protection Scott Broon is the Bear type figure...we need...

I saw McDonald`s disgust at being booked and the ref wasn`t getting too much respect. Another game another unbelievable ref! I thought that Brines was the limit but Messrs MacDonald and winters are running him close!
Okay, their goal came from a dodgy decision but Artur should have stopped that one. Very poor. :-(

How good is Skippy?
Didn't see the game but the result is all that matters.

Look forward to seeing the goals -any links?

PS
Scotland were rubbish last night - painful to watch at times - only started playing in the last 10mins. Maybe we don't have enough Aussies or NZders in our team to get us out of trouble!
Last 8 our limit, to be honest.
Great atmosphere tho'.

i have a link to Skippy's winner, will be included in a post tonight...trying to find the first goal......

NZ in the rugby why has Killen not got that streak of arrogance when playing fitba....

Six,
are the www.bbc.co.uk/scotland sports page highlights available to you? It may only be UK based visitors who can see them.
So far I`ve seen the Gretna goal and the winner but I`ll watch the highlights of all the matches tonight on the web site, if I remember.

Ian, thanks - I didn't know about that site, I'll check it out when I get home from work tonight.
I subscribe to Ch67 but they don't get round to doing "highlights" until you've forgotten all about the match & I don't feel up to watching the whole thing.

See Dida's for the high jump.

Don't want this to backfire on us though: if they get a hefty fine, it could sour relations between the clubs and they could come out looking for revenge on and off the field - thinking about our travelling support here.

Agree totally, it would be better for the clubs to remain friendly.

I think to watch the bbc highlights you have to have a British ISP address...

Six yer right UEFA have basically said that Milan cheated by taking Dida off...not a good sign..but it is true..they only backed doon i think after they watched the incident...remember wee Rino told Dida to stay on the deck...

So did Milan want the game abandoned and the result overturned at the outset...that is the question UEFA want answered?

I think Celtic and Milan have an agreement but UEFA may have just put on the straw that breaks that agreement...will Milan go back on their word?

I don't fear for the support..i think even the Milan fans know Dida acted dreadfully...just as we accept that Mr McHendry should never have been on the park...

and UEFA couldnae huv been seen to do nuthin over the goalie antics due to the whoha that has been made over it...

No BBC highlights for us foreigners BUT, my mistake regarding Ch67, they have a wee video of the game ready today - very short as it was in direct proportion to match "highlights" :o)

Allez les rayures!
