Little General Baws

In this week, an international week, where nothing much will happen apart from the press getting them worked up into a jingoistic fever akin to the Romans in the coliseums, waiting the feeding of peasants to the lions, things of note or comment will be few and far between.

After Ecosses victory in Paris, a victory that confirmed ma non-pluses to the international scene and Scotland’s results, plus the reaction to the supposed “return of Scotland as a force in the world game ’” © Bill Leckie, Hugh Keevins, The Daily Record and The Sun after last weeks European exploits, I’m glad that someone has been quoted in print that makes ma warped sense of irony and, the what the meeja would call ma small-mindedness, make sense.

In today’s Herald, there is an interview wie little Dick Advocaat. In his musings came this gem

“Scotland had some problems before but they have been fixed by my old friends Walter Smith and now Alex. I am delighted for Alex, I knew he could do and that is why myself and David Murray gave him the opportunity at R*ngers”

The little General as always, modesty in broon brogues and an ill-fitting suit.

So, cause of ma dislike on the aforementioned general and since he is taking credit for his “friends” rising stock, I no longer feel bad for having thoughts aboot Scotland having the biggest collapse since Dida was “swedged” in the East End and Big Eck presiding over the most glorious, inglorious failure in Scotland’s international history, one, which he snatches 3 defeats from the jaws of victory and national sainthood.

And also I no longer feel bad, not that I did anyway, wishing for r*ngers to become a national laughing stock by losing their remaining 4 Champions League games by 4-0…

Forza

Well, I for one would love to see us qualify at the expense of the WC holders or runners-up. I'm sure all Celtic Scottish international players (present and past) as well as 10s of thousands of Celtic fans feel the same.

I've no time for Wattie or the wee general, but big Eck never bothered me. Good to see the Bear in the dug out as well!

Agree with you on forthcoming CL gubbings for the huns tho'.
But, in saying that, they're probably well placed for a UEFA cup spot, mainly due to finding themselves in the same group as the weakest German and French champions EVER - you couldnae make it up!

Six- i never said i didnae want us to qualify, no, i just meant that i would no longer feel bad aboot having thoughts regarding failure of the national side....and maybe just maybe taking some enjoyment oot of it!!!

Of course IF Scotland do lose all last three games i hope it's because Eck picks Hutton, Adam, Ferguson, Weir and Boydchenko who all have stinkers...while Mick and Brown have fantastic games...

Yes, the Bear is in the dug oot but i feel he is only their to balance up the ex r*nger and Celtic factor...cynical...yes.

Maybe Tommy Burns was there because there was a "hun" manager at the time,
a 10000 megaVolts wan!
;o)

PS
CQN is not a nice place during international weeks, n'est-ce pas?

Afternoon all

No news as yet from WAFFA I see.

My bro was at the Celtics match in Mockneycockney land last night. Watched it on Channel 5 US, however he said that the atmosphere was disappointingly naff.

Fair play to meeting GC yesterday Kevin. Senior Baldy would be very jealous on that one.

we have got to be delighted with that.

hopefully any idiots out there have well and truly learned their lesson as well to never do anything like that again after seeing everyone's reaction.
