Lotw Diary- The Wisdom of Rob McLean

It’s been a while since the “fulcrum of Setanta’s sports coverage” has graced us wie his wisdom. So I’m glad to see he is at his usual earth shattering best in this blog..

The two most likely eventualities - you can call them virtual certainties if you wish - are an Old Firm two-horse race for the championship and a speedy return to the First Division for Gretna.

I’m sure you will agree, this is a prediction worthy of David Icke predicting Armageddon while dressed in Bob the Builder pyjamas and will have us all running to the nearest bookies to lay this months mortgage payment on it coming true.

Forza

See reports all over the Scottish sports press that MON had agreed a deal with Leeds in the Xmas before Seville.

Yet again MON is castigated by the CQN 'Loyal' for being a poor manager, who's heart was not in it. Where's the proof - he signed anything?

All we have is Mr. Discredited himself saying it. If he has signed anything, do you really believe we would have waited 5 years for this to come out on a 'Slow News Day'.

Yet again, MON, gets it in the neck due to the very lazy journalism that the CQN loyal seem to abhor. There is no bloody proof that this ever happened. Where is the document that he apparently signed? I fekking hate the double standards and rewriting of history that occurrs on that site, to suit the agenda of whoever considers him self to be the most 'faithful' Tim of the Day.

Same with the Maloney situation. MON never played him. Didn't rate him (apparently).

Rated him enough to give him his debut at Snake Mountain. The season in which he suffered that season long injury, he played 20 odd games in direct competition with Alan Thompson, who was playing well enough to earn himself an England call-up. Plus there was some fella called Henrik still hanging around Parkhead that year. Soccerbase.com indicates that he played 23 games for us in 2003/04, scoring six times before he was injured that season (Feb 04). Not really that bad considering, who he was trying to dislodge from the team IMO.

MON rated him enough to pay us £1m for him, which surprised most fans.

BTW, colleagues of mine here in Cov are going mental with the situation here with the very real threat of administration hanging over the club, plus the fact they lost that 91st minute goal last night isn't helping.

Guess who is getting it in the neck for the Club's situation? Richardson, the previous chairman and a certain other manager 'who walks on water' for leaving the club in the state that he did. Too many players on massive wages, when the club went down, who they couldn't shift and were not good enough to take the club back up again. But then again, Coventry fans are all wrong aren't they. They really don't know what happened to their club.

I don't mind punters having a go at others if they deserve it, but I hate this 'Goebbalsesque' re-writing of history that seems to be going on at present, particularly in relation to us and anyone who for what ever reason leave Celtic. If they (players) leave and do well for their respective new team, surely that means that we can charge more for our next transfers out. It's not rocket science is it?

BTW MON was useless at substitutions 8>)!

Rant over - Apologies

Wow! I haven`t really bothered with the MON posts in CQN, anyway I never get any response to my posts on there. So there!
Enjoyed the rant! :-)
managers are sometimes reluctant to substitute players because of the thought that goes into selecting the team in the first place.
Young Riordan should know by now that saying nothing works even better than moaning, `woe is me`.
Come on the Bhoys tonight!

Feeling better now

Mrs. Baldy is pretty ill, so having to be nice and offer stuff like TLC - sort of goes against the grain. Bit of a shock to the system having to take on more of the parenting role like that fella in the BT Broadband ads.

Fear that I will be unable to watch the match tonight - thus adding to my worries 8>)

Still come on the Hoops and now only 6 days till Benfica when myself and Evil are on a whistle stop visit to the Holy Ground once more.

All the best one and all

Oh FFS

First to say it doesn't matter is going to be right off my Xmas card list.

Senior Baldy is already off it.

Disappointing but at least it was two good goals although I thought Scott mcDonald had fairly taken the ball from the defender in the box. Sno was taking some stick at the match but he, not Brown or Donati was prepared to take responsibility.
Forza e buona notte :-(
