Meelan- The Final Word
It's all aboot the fitba, this final word. We huvnae really discussed the fitba, the game, the match but tonight it really hit me how massive a result it was. Due to the "incident" i probably never enjoyed the result last night. Tomorrow, after discussing the game this evening wie fellow Tims i will go into my work tomorrow wie a spring in ma step.
Unlike Gordon, i couldn't give a monkey's regarding the Scottish Resurgence, i'm only bothered aboot oor result and what it does for oor profile. A quick look round the net and you can see what it did for oor profile. Make no mistake the Hoops are the talk of the steamie.
I find hard not to disagree wie Carlos Ancelotti when he says Milan didnae deserve to lose. It was a harsh result on the reigning European Champs in a cagey game, played on a typical autumn night in Glesga on a rain soaked pitch. The pitch had a lot to do wie the mistakes made by both teams as did Celtic's cautious approach, which could also account for the fact the game was quite poor until the last half hour.
"We planned not to lose it in the first half so we planned to win it in the second half,"
Said oor Gordon after the match. On the way to the game, wie nae CD player on the bus, we had to listen to Real Radio and the dross that GS was copying Wallie Smith wie the 5 in the midfield.
While R*ngers look comfortable playing in that sort of formation i don't feel it suits us, i felt that even though as GS said Aiden and Brown were "good team mates" i felt the formation didnae suit and even though they did a lot of guid work defensively going forward they were a non event.
Yes, oor defence looked safer wie the solid bank of five in front, the extra cover producing a performance from Lee Naylor but due to this cautious approach or respectful approach oor chances were few and far between. It also limited Milan to few chances.
But we can work on that. One thing that can't be improved on from last night is the work rate, effort, guts and determination that the players showed. We made oor own luck by getting decent balls into the box from set pieces. We need that at this level and playing an alien formation against the instincts of oor players.
Still Milan can join the long list of scalps and be added to the long list of nights that will be remembered. Tomorrow i will enjoy more than i enjoyed today. So i think i will post the goals just cause times like these must be savoured..i mean watch GS celebration...and you forgive him for playing Jarosik....
Forza

Meelan, the final word. Now it`s Gretna the first word. Come on the Bhoys!
Morning all
WGS got his tactics so right on Wednesday, that I am shocked that he has appeared to have learned something. Whether Jiri was a masterstroke or a gamble - it worked, who cares? Well done, but can we play away from home in a similar vein. If we do we'll have more performances such as Milan away than we had in places such as Copenhagen or Benfica.
As the worst tackler in the world will be at RB for the next few weeks/months, I hope his tackling is better when it comes to taking out the opposition compared to our advertising hoardings.
Mr. McHendrey is on the front page of the English Edition of the Daily Ranger, read Senior Baldy's copy this morning, plus it has made the national news and teletext pages.
Well done to the Sheep and Toffees last night. Blackburn heheheheh!
Their results against Ukranian opposition is surely good news for the Scottish co-efficient against them. Are they not our biggest rivals? Thus good news for Celtic. (I think)
Still not thinking about injuries today, just thinking about Gretna and three points.
Come on the Hoops Clap Calp!!
Come on the Hoops Clap Calp!!
I'm looking ahead to a certain Hibs v H**s tomorrow, before the Tic match on Sunday.
Promises to be a great sporting WE, managed to get tickets for me and the boys for the Argentina game.
Would 3pts ahead in the SPL and a place in the RWC semis be too much to ask for?
Allez les anneaux!

Six, may be too much to ask for but go for it. What about France in Cardiff? Any chance?
I like that, H**s v H**s tomorrow. Come on the H**s!
Good and bad, Naka and Jiri are back but JJPD JVoH are oot. Who else? The match before a visit to Mordor is a must win. COTB
Ian,
For the Blues V Blacks in Cardiff, I would like to see a draw, exta time and a penalty shoot-out :o)
However, after my prediction this week about Rangers and Marseille going to get hammered, I've come to agree with BigJock that "only a fool would predict...".
Would love to see us going to Ipox with a 3 pt cushion - but it's all in the hands of the MIBs now :o)
Allez les cerceaux!

Six - Don't think there has ever been a penalty (Drop-Goal) shoot out in an International Match. Certainly the closest I can remember ever getting to it was the last RWC Final when that fella fluked one over between the Aussie posts with a minute of ET to go.
France have a chance tomorrow, but my money is on NZ, Aus, SA and (I hate to say it) Argentina all getting through to the semis. Still fancy SA to win it though.

Baldy - as you say, NZ, Aus, SA and Argentina should all be in the semis-but you never know Scotland could just sneak it, get humped in the semis and humped again for forth place.
Nothing like having a bit of ambition, eh?
Allez les cercles!
