Writing On The Jaro Wall

When the Hoopy hoards were ploughing through the rain towards the floodlit paradise that is Celtic Park on a Champions League night, i'm sure i was not the only one that shook their heads in bemusement when they heard Jiri Jarosik was starting in the midfield.

Jarosik's exile had seen him take his biscuit-ersed features round the backwaters of Airdrie, Brechin and Montrose where he roamed aboot looking uninterested in front of three men and a dug.

He was deemed not worthy of starting against St Mirren, ICT or Dundee and here he was loping aboot a rain soaked CP giving Lee Naylor a dig oot by keeping Oddo and Rino quiet.

He also gave a dossier to Spartak Moscow and openly bemoaned recently that he shouldnae turned doon a move to Kiev as he is dreaming of the bright lights of, eh, Sunderland or Birmingham.

Yesterday oor manager said he was brought in for his "height and physicality".

Makes you wonder what Evander Sno makes of it all.......

I thought Jiri played really well and that his form last year wasn't anywhere near as bad as people made out. He was a far far better and more effective player than Gravesen and played well in the champions league games he played in.

I think he still has a future. A good one actually.

One thing that struck me about Jaro and has always struck me aboot him is the FACT he is a player no doubt aboot that.

If he regains his EPL form and gets played in the correct position i.e midfield it will be like a new signing.

Interesting to see if he plays tomorrow but he did play well in midweek kept the ball very well
