Lotw Diary- The Setanta Blogs

When there is nothing much happening, which in this international mid season break there is really nothing happening, a trip to the Setanta blogs is always worth a gander.

I mean your day is not complete without the insightful thoughts of Steve McManaman, the expertise of Craig Burley, the top drawer experience of Tim Sherwood and, of course, the fulcrum of Setanta Sports coverage and the master of stating the obvious Rob McLean.

The list of great bloggers on their roster has a new addition. Pat Dolan is described as “a colourful and sometimes controversial” character and a quick look at his
biog confirms that he is a “character”

So I’m glad that his recent
blog lives up to his reputation. From the sensationalist to the contradictory in a couple of hundred words.

While, I agree the
tackle on Scott Brown, is one of the worst challenges I have ever seen at CP, a tackle rightly punished by a straight red and hopefully a ban, his shouting for a two year ban is up there wie anything the lackies on Radio Clyde come up wie on their nightly dross.

He then goes on to call Benficas performance disgraceful and Celtic unconvincing. At this point you should be wondering if he was at the same game. He then points out to us, the uneducated who have never coached St Pats or Cork City, that Celtic lacked quality but we have quality in McGeady, Brown and McDonald.

So I’m wondering what is it?

I for one can’t wait for another Dolan doozie…

Forza

Good afternoon all. Like the improvements Kevin.

Thoughts on the weekend.

Italy - hope the family of the guy shot earlier are allowed to grieve in peace. God Bless.

However if the stories are true that he was part of a larger group of Lazio Ultras attacking a car of Juventus fans then I can honestly say I have little sympathy for him as an individual. Hope the rumours of reprisals throughout Italy are just that - rumours.

Commy Games - For Glasgow great, for Celtic I find it funny that we have got one over them.

If we get some regeneration then fantastic, however the thoughts of a Celtic Village with bars, 'Maccy-Ds' and 'Subways opening up all over the place I find laughable. Whatever is developed must be sustainable over the long term, not just closed up and moved somewhere else as soon as Her Maj and family havve moved back to London.

Be nice to see the stadium finished and the area regenerated but I would rather that better housing and community facilities are developed rather than stuff which will become white elephants in a few months time after completeion.

If you have been to the Telstra stadium in Sydney during the day, you will immediately understand what i mean.

Deeks to Hearts? - Well he might as well go as he is never going to be given the chance with us. A shame as he deserved at least a run in the team at some time.

Seen the Irish Independent rant about Celtic fans again this morning. What a load of sh!te!!! The Irish Independent is now so pro-British, anti Celtic that surely someone at Celtic should have a word.

All the best

From Daniele, who was in the crowd at Atalanta where the fans of both teams agreed to call off the match.
Two car loads of football fans had a fight at a service station. Lazio fans going to Milan and Juve fans going to Parma. There was a police car at the other side of the motorway and two shots were fired. At the time of the shooting all the supporters had returned to their cars and no one from the petrol station saw the incident.
Compare that with what you hear on the news (it may be the same).

That sounds totally different Ian from what I heard. If that version is true then that is shocking.

I do have a problem with casuals after my first hand dealing with the ICF, CSF and CCS when I ran pubs in Edinburgh. If a hooligan is hurt then I can feel no sympathy for him. If this guy was an innocent then may he rest in peace.

No other Celtic related news that I can see on a quick scan of News Now. International weeks are so boring.

reminder to all that Gordon is being featured on Inside Sport tonight on BBC 1 at 11ish. Presume that BBC Scotland will be covering this as well.

Hail hail

Irish Independent Rant

Kevin,
thinking of what happened last night, I wonder if the ultras put that sort of story about to instigate anger and violence. On this occasion I would err on the side of caution. (but you never know)

Sorry Baldy,
it was you, not Kevin!

Ian does Daniele go on the Green Brigade board?

He may well, he loves the whole power of the football supporter thing. :-)

I might like the Setanta channel, except I have heard, especially in Vancouver, Canada that this company treats their employees like crap, not paying them etc. I won't give them one cent.
