Lotw Diary....

I have watched and listened to the Press Conference that was given at Lennoxtown today. I then saw the pictures from the training session this morning. I said yesterday, in the comment section, that the game should not go ahead. The correct decision has been taken.

While some may question Celtic actions, the fact of the matter is it should not have taken a request from Celtic, at this late stage for the game to be postponed. The beaks that run oor game really are a JOKE.

The whole SPL card should be cancelled. It should have been cancelled on Saturday or at least yesterday.

Celtic’s part in this? I think GS summed it up wie his opening gambit that “them upstairs” had made the decision to play the game initially. Them upstairs are only interested in Tv money, profit and revenue.

It was the fitba’ people that have got this game called off. For me Mick’s statement backs this up…“Having met this morning as a group for the first time since Phil's death, the Celtic team, management and backroom staff feel very strongly that our match on Wednesday should be postponed as a mark of our sincere respect for Phil O'Donnell, a great player and a great man.“A number of our squad have very close connections to Phil's family and feel it would be inappropriate to proceed with this match at such a time, following such a tragic event."

Anybody that questions oor motives for the postponement should really crawl back under the stone they came from. They are lowlife scum who really shouldnae be breathing the same air as decent people.

Football husnae come into this decision. Being decent caring human beings has. For once the soul of football has won over the money and greed…..

Just a shame it has took tragic circumstances for it to be so…..

Lhads- background colour has been changed for a period of mourning for Phil O'Donnell.

Happy new year to all, and all the best....

Well said, Kevin. The fixtures should've been cancelled immediately. I can't even smile though Celtic grabbed the top of the table for the time being. The news just makes me sick. 2007 was a rough year...here's hoping 2008 doesn't have nearly the number of tragedies of this past year.

Happy New Year from an Italian admirer of Celtic and all things Scottish!

You have summed it up perfectly Kevin. ALL games should have been postponed IMEDIATELY after it became clear Phil had died. Big Mick I have to say has shown superb captainship on this occasion.

Happy New Year to you all.

Our society is changing. A few years ago the idea of postponing matches would have been laughed at. We are on the road to establishing a new protocol. The show doesn`t have to go on!

Completely agree with all that's been said - correct decision that could have been made earlier. An even better decision would be a complete postponement of the 2nd January fixture list

The brief period of respect for 'Uncle Phil' should also help us to take a step back from the sometimes blinkered perspective we have on a lot of things, and make us appreciate many of life's gifts that we take for granted... and shouldn't.

I wish a heathly, happy and prosperous New Year 2008 to you all.

I admit to being one of the old guard. When I lost my father 10 years ago I was at work the next day but I can appreciate that people have other ideas. The Sir Harry Lauder approach is from a previous age.....and the Celtic players are not from that ilk. I am prepared to learn the new way, there will always be another day for football.
(Saw Donati at Braehead yesterday, he is taller than I thought.)
Felice anno nuovo!
2008 con forza!

Been off line in the main for the past few days.

Can't believe that the Arabs are being forced to play at present - WTF?

We know from bitter experience that the SPL/SFA are a bunch of morons, which is why I am disappointed that the Club(s) did not go straight away in taking a pro-active approach in getting the entire card cancelled. To expect them to do something is just too much.

Have watched some of the Real Radio phone in on Setanta too. Very strange experience, to be honest I do not know if it is a positive thing in the main. If it helps others then I suppose it must be.

My thoughts are with Wilkie and Hunt today.

Green Fields of France

Hail Hail one and all

Sixtaeseven- Heard an SPL lackie today saying they only canncelled games that had a DIRECT involvment with PO'D....SO........Dundee Utd didnae have a direct involvement...couldnae believe what he was saying....

If it wisnny for the CELTIC players we would have been playing today, it's interesting to see the medija take on the postponement, seem to forget the facts that are in the open...that Celtic requested the postponement, NOT r*ngers..fair play they agreed BUT did not request it...., so i'm glad Dundee Utd stuffed the Jam Farts today....to stick it up Hearts and also the SFA and SPL....

The Real Radio phone in....that would have been an eye opener for you mate!!!! It's a JOKE, Roughie and Cameron admit knowing feck all aboot fitba...at least their honest...unlike Clyde that try and pass themselves off as serious medija lackies...

I have avoided all medija sports ootlets since Saturday...will do so until at least Saturday..

Great song that sixtaeseven...

Ah'm no baldy...
:o)

Loads of reds and yellows today, so much for the seasonal good will!

Manged to get to the match last Saturday when I was over, great seats practically facing the dug out. Anyway a few times I could actually hear GS shouting and bawling at the team.
Question: does Gordy have a loud voice OR is the crowd always that quiet?

We played pretty crap but the 3-0 could have been about 7-2.
Crazy game, fitba !
