Celtic v Hearts FT 3-0

At the end of the day 3pts, 3 goals, clean sheet, a decent performance, and a run out for 3 of our new bhoys.

We got the early goal we wanted 5min after the restart (Skippy free header from Naka's corner) and that effectively ended the game as a contest.

Andy opened his Celtic account with a cracking shot from a wee reverse pass from Aiden inside the box (75min).

Sammy (for Jan), Robson (for Donati), and Hutch (for Skippy) all got a run out in the last 15min or so. Sammy in particular oozes class, and could have scored twice - one cracker from 25 yards nearly broke the post in half.

Good displays all over the park, good to see our strikers striking , Aiden MOTM again.

A few talking points from the game:
- Artur lashes out at Mick with handbag - not good to see - crowd remind Artur to cut that right out.
- Driver left Andy standing for pace twice - is it just a fitness problem or is he slow?
- Frail for a six match ban after man handling Skoosh off the field of play!

All of which sets us up well for Wednesday - be interesting to see how we line-up: Skoosh suspended and still a question mark about who's going to step in at RB (Andy can't play).

More of that later - we'll savour the moment.

The pace in the Hearts defence allowed them to push up to the half way line and the passes to start attacks got shorter. However the team worked through that. Hearts tried to out muscle us and remember that the horrible lot always looked stronger than Hearts at Hampden recently. Very interesting! Full marks to the four midfielders for working it out!
3-0 v Hearts! :-)

I thought the game was going to be loused by half time, but we let them come back into it. Second goal killed the game as a contest, nice to see Andy becoming the first full back since Paul Telfer over two years ago to score…..

We played well, from middle to front again we were good and HOW MANY TIMES THIS SEASON ARE WE GOING TO HIT THE WOODWORK?

Andy Hinkel, yes, he got done for pace and didnae look comfortable wie the ba’ over the top but he made two great blocks and positionally was sound on maist occasions. I’m putting it doon to rusty-ness and trying to forget the notions I have that he reminds me of Big Joos….

13 goals in three games, canny argue and we look better than them- another poor performance BUT RESULT- but I agree wie Ian they will try and oot muscle us kick us bite us and gorge oor eyes oot wie rusty nails….

But bring it on….

How he has chnged....

Sorry, that was Fatmir Vata, a fellow Albanian but a year younger than Rudi who is now an agent. Rudi`s last team may have been St Johnstone.

I had a look at the Sunday Mail this morning. Under a headline that proclaims that the Mayor of Barcelona fears the visit of Celtic fans we eventually find out that the horrible lot`s supporters did not behave well in Barcelona. First time in print in a Scottish newspaper?
Also at the bottom of a story about Artur and Mick and their wee argument we are reminded that three players were sent off when Celtic played Barcelona four years ago. (answers on a postcard!)
If they`re going to say something about Celtic they make sure it`s negative! Same as we do about the horrible lot but we don`t kid on that we are neutral!

I think that there is some regulation about wrappings able to be used for food and newspapers aren`t allowed! :-)
So it`s the recycle bin!

The Barcelona president continued: “We are also looking forward very muchto welcoming Celtic supporters to Barcelona in early March. “The Celtic supporters are fantastic, in fact the best travellingsupporters in the world as we have seen many times. We can assure Celticsupporters that they will receive a very warm welcome when they visit thecity. “I know that Celtic supporters are extremely passionate about their club, aclub which I believe, like FC Barcelona, is different. “We know that supporters will travel in huge numbers to follow their team, but we also know the great reputation of good behaviour which Celtic fansenjoy and clearly we are looking forward to hosting the Celtic fans in thecity once again. “I know that the city council, the police, Celtic FC and FC Barcelona havebeen working very closely over a number of weeks to ensure that Celtic’svisit will again be a great success. “There will be special arrangements made in the city to ensure that we doall we can to ensure this is the case. We hope all Celtic supporters enjoytheir visit to Barcelona.”

Bit of a charm offensive going on between the SSM and Laporta..

Hope the Catalunya press are reporting this...
