A Guid Friday To End A Bad Week...

It's a toss up at the moment who is the most hated person in Britain. Is it the Walter Mitty type figure- but now rich- Heather Mills or Gordon Strachan whose crime is to let a poor R*ngers team, a poor manager and allowed the biased medija their chance to get a pound of Celtic flesh while waltzing their way to a possible treble and an unlikely quadruple (please, please some European mob ensure Manchester is not their Seville. I'm struggling to handle it as it is)

Gordon and Heather have a lot of- using tedious, unwritten blogging license here- things in common. Right, for those expecting a joke aboot replacement limbs leave this page now:-), but the judge said Mills was "less than candid" and was "inconsistent and inaccurate" when given evidence.

The same charges could be laid at GS with regards to his post match musings and take on some of Celtic's performances under his stewardship. Also, the demands for £35,000 a year for child care is like GS, once again, going to the board and asking for a few million for another midfielder who canny tackle, pass or score double figures from midfield to play oot of position.

Anyway, if falling to oor second domestic cup defeat at hame for the first time ever- another unwanted first for GS- wisnny embarressing enough, that coming on the back of his comments aboot the SPL being a joke and unattractive to others, it really meant that the joke was on us.

The mentioning of games being played in half empty grounds before a tie when two upper stands were closed and Celtic had to offer kids under 16 a free ticket to get the 33,000 attendance was misguided. Then him bemoaning the quality of the fair then watching his team prove to a worldwide audience that the SPL is shit wie a below championship level display from an expensively assembled team- in the Scottish sense- means that Der Hun will be laughing all over this Easter weekend.

True, the Gretna and Motherwell situation is a joke. It's all very well John Boyle admiting that they're "hugely embarrassed" by the 150th game called of this season there but the fact of the matter is Motherwell have spent he haw on their surface and basically have hoped for the best for the last couple of years. They should be hauled over the coals for this, relegated, put into administration, their supporters tarred and feathered while sent walking roond Wishaw bollock naked.

If only we could tar and feather Gretna's fans. We would have a joab finding them right enough. It's seems very difficult to have any sort of hatrid for a club that husnae annoyed us, they have annoyed the lower leagues wie their buying of numerous titles, but in the SPL they have really been a gimmie 3 points to everyone, so they are unannoyable.

Well, they were until the administrator said that they needed the Celtic game to stay afloat and were pinning their hopes on a big pay-day. They have also made a plea to the glory hunters , maybe now rubberneckers to come oot and support them in their hour of need. It reeks of Northern Rock asking you to open an account.

So basically we are to play a game against an Under 19 side, who huvnae been paid for weeks, who are not allowed to play at their own stadium, are renting a 1st divisions teams ground cause their temporary hame is fucked, who want us to sell 6,000 £20 tickets for a game, which if the administrators fancy it could take the gate money we handover and close the club anyway, thus making the game we attended null and void and worthless in the race for the flag.

Update: The SPL has bailed oot Gretna so they will survive to at least the end of the season. So yer £20 quid will be going into the SPL coffers. Why didnae the SPL bail oot Livi, Fawkirk and Motherwell when they went up the swany?

And they are wondering why they are struggling to sell this game to the travelling Hoops support? After Tuesday night two men and a dug may travel as everyone i spoke to or overheard moaning was scunnered wie oor performances.

I often wonder if guys only come to the fitba' to moan as their better halves willnae let them speak in the hoose. Some of the shite you need to put up wie makes you wonder if a lonely exsistance in front of a PC watching in a warm darkened room would be better.

Tuesday, I heard them bemoaning Aiden McGeady saying he was too young to be playing week in week oot, as Skippy was having a mare a fight nearly broke oot after someone pointed this oot, Gary Caldwell was blamed for everything, no matter if he was anywhere near the ba' or not and Donati was blamed for the ootbreak of violence in Tibet.

Add to that the auld bloke behind me, sounding like Victor fae Still Game, going on aboot porridge and bananas and reminiscing aboot the guid auld days when the brake clubs swayed to "Glorious St Paddy".

Not, that some of the moans are not justified. Just it seems like the modern fan is mair vocal in his abuse than the happy backer is wie his support. As has been discussed, in great lenght, we need three points on Sunday no matter if they get wiped from the board.

While we canny get carried away if we beat Gretna i think looking like scoring would be a great start. So, it has come to this...we have to beat a bankrupt team to save oor season in the attempt to win a sham of a league in a fitba'ing backwater.

The manager thinks we are in crisis and is calling on all of us to stand together as well as talking aboot the guid auld days when he broke into the Dundee team and punted from Man Yoo. The we need to put up wie wanks like Darryl Broadfoot waffling aboot oor greatest challenge while slagging of oor team, mind you some of the things i agree wie but the majority of it is just a chance to have a go.

I mean, I didnae write a couple of hundred words having a go at his two days worth of growth on Scotsport the other night did I? I mean it looked like a wean had penciled over his face. Time for the bhoys to answer the critics.

Forza

What we need is a Celtic victory to cheer us up. When the bhoys win it is much easier to ignore the non Celtic minded world. It is in the interests of the NCM to talk us down. For example, the Donati should be sent back to Italy patter. Scott Brown is a shadow, JVoH is a dud. These things are discussed openly and are almost considered to be fact!
I agree with Tommy Gemmell about the team needing a leader, we cannot start feeling sorry for ourselves when the ref at Ibrox is giving us minus zero. that`s when the strong willed get going.
anyway as big Adrian Chiles says it`s the hope that kills you.
For now I`ll settle for the points against Gretna.

A lot of things have changed in my time watching the game (best part of 50 years): the cup competitions, for example, have lost their appeal.
ManU sussed that out a few years ago when they opted out of the Holy of Holies, the FA cup.

It's no surprise that Scottish and League cups no longer mean anything.

Today, you can watch football 7/24, the best teams in the world. Supporters are being gradually replaced by audiences who are there to be entertained. And the entertainment better be good. Otherwise they'll find better elsewhere.

Still, I remember even the great teams under JS and even JS himself getting dogs abuse when the goals and goals dried up. So, at least that's one thing that hasn't changed.

Another thing that hasn't changed, if you're a fan, is the importance of winning the league.

You've got to cut thru all the crap, all the diversions, the subliminal messages trasmitted by Fat Derek's dog whine, and the badly drawn hacks.

Keep your focus on what's important for you, the fan of Celtic FC, the Tic supporter.
It's our flag and we're going to keep it.

The NCM medija panders this because still in this world people are easily led. Take for example ma faither in law, does nuthin but moan aboot the Daily Ragger but buys it everyday. Takes things he reads in it as gospel, never questions the motive of the journo.

He listens to Real Radio Phone In- while watching it on Setanta- gets annoyed but believes what is being outputted at their editor’s discretion.

I listen to Clyde sometimes but not all the time. The reason, Ian Wright and that balloon Durham are on Talksport at the sametime and they can be annoying- but Clyde panders itself as quality medija wie experts.

It’s a laughable claim.

I stopped buying papers a longtime ago but I still click through them on-line and listening to all news bulletins on the radio. Thing is I try, wie this blog to pick holes and ridicule the people who write them. I don’t believe. I like Cybertimdom there is more truth in Cybertimdom than in any paper and phone in.

I read the Tommy Gemmell article and while I canny back fully the we are missing Neil Lennon theory I can see where he is coming from. But….one simple solution is there. A fit Paul Hartley gives Mick a rock and an influence in front of him. Also would like to see JVOH showing his experience and supposed character.

There has been something Churchillian aboot yer posts this week Sixtaeseven, I muttered the immortal words last night that we would win oor final 10 games…pal asked me if I was on the drugs….

But like Mr Chiles, It’s the hope that does kill you!!!!!!

Going for a wee Good Friday pint…..happy Easter to all LOTWITES

Cup matches should be put back on the season ticket. Let`s stop having these half filled stadiums that`s worth a goal of a start to the opposition. If I hadn`t been on the home ticket scheme I wouldn`t have gone to the bother of going to the game. Maybe that`s the solution, I come off the home ticket scheme. Naw! The Champions League tickets!
How come the Ashley Cole tackle doesn`t get me so mad? :-)

Snow in Rugby

Trains down as well while the work goes on - no doubt the 5 min shower we just had will be the excuse railtrack need for being late. Again!

Weird being at home, decorating and the football isn't on tomorrow (Sat). Need a game to get over Tuesday (and a performance).

Time for the older players to stand up and be counted now!!!

Right first time I have ever helped spread the word of a band. Shameless promotion.

The New Adventures are playing Glasgow and Edina this weekend. Brother Evil Rum Baba is sort of a promo, roadie, flatmate, manager type, best mate with them. Most of them are Rugby boys, have had their photo's taken at CP on their last gigs in Glasgow (so their's their Celtic credentials). Stevie the guitarist, as a Colchester boy, is our resident spy on how Adam Virgo is doing there on loan. Err, not as great as we would have hoped, to be honest.

Playing tomorrow night at the Beat Club on Sauchiehall Street.

Sunday night at Henry's Cellar Bar in Embra

www site is New Adventures with some tunes as well.

Apparently the support act are adecent bunch as well, so if yer stuck for something to do?..........

I like to kid myself that there is a match on Saturday. How sad is that? Come on the Celts!

Ian, there is a game on today (Saturday). Like matter and antimatter, there is the Tic and all that is antiTic. There is what what we play (fitba') and what they play (antifitba').

So there is a game today: a game of antifitba where hopefully they will disappear up their ain, erm, black hole.

Ah didnae get ma O level physics for nuthin, ye know.

Tic and antiTic?
Is there something in between? :-)
While I`m at it, there is the Huns and the Huns Lite. Is there a Tic Lite? (in Scotland?)
Anyway, Celtic owe themselves and us a victory on Sunday. Hopefully after the match on Sunday I`ll be able to breathe normally again. :-)Only 2 weeks until a proper Saturday 3pm kick off home match.
Come on the Bhoys!

Less boik now.....

Tic Lite? Could that be Albion Rovers? It's not Hibs as they blew away thier heritage in the 50's and are now embarressed aboot their past.

The Anti-Fitba won again today. Beat Hibs ain style of Anti-Fitba' that they peddle under Mixu now. It's a shame they have become long ba' merchants.

Is semi AntiTic not inbetween Tic and Anti Tic? I would class ICT as semi anti tic....
