Hibs v Celtic FT 0-2
Another 3 points in the bag after a hard, hard game.
We came out with a better attitude, gradually worked our way into it and started to a dominate.
Just after the hour mark, our White Cafu went on a 40 yard run and slotted it past the keeper.
Sammy on for Jan (70min) didn't waste any time to make it two with a great header after good work by Aiden - game over.
The Celts were quite happy to control the game after that with Hartley on for Donati (75min) then Robson for Naka (80min).
We won't get it harder than this anywhere outside Govan, and proved we were up for the physical challenge in that second half. So at the end of the day a very, very satisfying result.
MOTM: a difficult one cos the whole team stuck together and got the result - maybe Naylor for the goal that broke the deadlock, Skoosh had one of his better games, and Aiden came on to a decent game too.
Talking points:
- Could have had a penalty in the first half when Skippy was wrestled off the ball in the box (dream on).
- Wee Gordon in the stands, but managed to bring on Sammy just at the right moment
- Donati booked - for nothing much considering some of the tackles that were flying in - and will now miss the Motherwell match
- Artur booked AFTER the match for waving to the Hibs fans and Brines was sorely tempted to produce a red when Artur continued to wave... to the Tic fans.
- MIB - the Man in BLUE - was rank as usual :o)

Listening to the pre-match build up while doing taxi duties. Radio Tuetcher were talking this up as a drop points senerio and luvin that fact.
Shite park, swirling wind and MIB who was willing to let the Hibs boys strong arm tactics go..hey, for the first half it looked like we would struggle as we couldnae pass or keep the ba’.
Funny reading the pre-amble sixtae praises Hibs for their attacking fitba’. Yes, they still go forward but a change of style is very very noticeable under Mixu Pitalineon. Robust and long bawish is the order of the day now.
Said at half time, while not playing badly we needed to keep the ba’ and enforce oor pace on the game then we should have no worries. And that’s how it turned oot.
Scott Broon was immense as we dominated the second period. When we scored the 1st goal the possession stats were 80% in favour of the black and greens. Second was always on the cards as we turned the screw wie a cracking cross from Aiden and heider from Georgios of the junglios- who had replaced jvoh whom I thought had a ok game.
The talking points
The “pen” was a stonewaller, it was WWF wrestling but the ref allowed the Hibs players to do it all day.
Georgios looks like he will be a great impact player but….judgement can only be dealt end the end of the loan, he has still to pull us oot the mire- which Skippy and JVOH have done- wie a winning goal or a goal when we are struggling at 0-0.
Think Donati got booked for moaning aboot the late tackles that he was receiving. Hibs tried to kick and injure oor ba’ players aided and abetted by the MIB. GS mentioned it I his PC, said Hibs should be thankful or players were professional and just got up and got on wie it by playing fitba’.
Hartley and Robson are ready made replacements for the ever improving Italian.
I missed the booking- was saying ma goodbyes- but GS once again highlighted the inconistances that he has seen this week. He said, rightly, that Mo clapped the Hibs fans on the way off, so why was he not booked? He said, rightly, that Skippy was booked against Gretna after his winning goal for leaving the pitch but players have been running into the crowd- Daniel Coosans last week- and not being booked
He wants a rulebook so he can tell the players what is what?
He should just know that Brines is a prize tube and the worst ref in Scotland, which is some feat.
So, basically yer allowed to man handle and kick but applaud the fans is a booking? Absolute fud.
Or is this the start of the agenda to get arfur suspended and hounded oot the Scottish game?
Any one mention the abuse McGeady got? And will Bentfoot mention the Hibs fans singing aboot shagging a hun?
Answers on a postcard but I think we know the answer.
I’m away to get packed, then got an engagement party tonight and a 9.30 pick up time tomorrow morning…..
Forza
Enjoy Barcelona, Kevin - don't forget the sun lotion and anti-riot gear!
Only joking, hopefully the Bhoys will put up a decent show on and off the park.
PS
3-1 to the huns, including a late peno when there was a danger of 2-2.
Was somebody wrestled to the ground? Any bookings? Nah, didnae think so.

How come the toothless, spineless minis can suddenly come alive again once they've laid down to the maxis?
Respect, ya greetin faced pair!
Have a great week Kevin and a well done to Sixtae, back on form. :-)
Did I ever say that Brines is a lunatic?
I love it that Aiden has started to deliver great crosses from positions that defenders don`t expect. All this doubling up has been shown to be useless. :-)
You're right Ian, I much prefer our full backs running 50 yards straight at them then calmly slotting the ball away or latching on to wee reverse passes inside the box before bursting the net.
All that overlapping stuff is so 67!
How much do you think our White Cafu is worth after yesterday's opener?
-----------
Re: Brines. He offered no protection to the players yesterday. A lot of tackles were over the top - mostly from the home team in the first half it must be said.
I was surprised to see Skoosh after the break - he must drink IrnBru right enough!
As for his booking of the HG, I think Artur shouldn't get himself into situations where his behavior gives the ref the option. But then again Artur is Artur!
I meant doubling up of defenders on Aiden. :-)
Artur is a one off, for sure.
Silly me!
You're right enough, there's not another player I know that gets himself into the positions that Aiden does for the crosses.
Also the quality of his deliver is much better this year.
He must be the bookies favorite for POTY.
I wonder how long he will stay at CP? If and when he goes, I'm sure the bigotry factor will have played a part.
Still, NL got the same abuse and stuck it out.
Hope KevinG remembered to take his binbag and is doing his bit to keep Barcelona green...
Missed the game but have seen the highlights. Have actually missed more matches since I got my Santa bpox than I did when I had to go over to my Dad's for the games.
Aiden's turn and cross was again world class.
Only thing I want to raise is what is Mo Mo's position. On the HB, many say he is a defensive midfielder (I disagree as surely the first quality in this player I would look for is can he tackle) He is not as attacking as say Skoosh, so therefore what is his best position and in what formation do you think? He's got some talemt, but how do you feel we can best get it to show?
Kevin - enjoy Barca
Iain and Sixtae - great stuff as usual
Massimo? My friend in Milan told me that we were getting,`a midfield ball winner with a bit of quality`. Perhaps a ball winner in Italy steals the ball rather than scraps for it. :-) I think the opposition see him as a soft touch but I wouldn`t be so sure. He has talent, we just have to utilise it better. I`ve seen him out and about and he is pretty tall. He shouldn`t be pushed around!
Have a great week Baldymeister!
:-)
It`s not as tense as the league but more exciting. Come on the Champions League Celts!
