Celts v Hibs - FT 2-0
Well we got the 3points that we needed in this, the last home game of the season. That ensures it all goes to the last day, which is as much as we could ask for.
It must be said that Celtic were more comfortable in the second half.
In saying that it was still all very tense, with chances on both sides - end to end stuff over the 90mins. However, in 86mins Skippy's wee nod at the far post from a Robbo free kick wrapped up the points.
It was a good advert for Scottish game, except...
... unfortunately, Hibs finished with 9 men (both reds for second yellow cards in 80min and 93min).
I say "unfortunately" because it wasn't that type of game, but mostly because it will give some folk the chance to equate yesterday's events with today's game. They couldn't be further from the truth.
MOTM was Robbo, again - who along with Hartley did a power of work in midfield.
Why did it take so long for to find that out, Gordon?
Sammy came on for Jan (65min) and Sheridan for Skippy (92min).
No Skoosh today... he will be back a better player next year, no worries.
The last home game of the season and possibly the last ever home game for one or two:
Naylor? Artur (who had at least 3 first class saves)? Sammy? Jan?
Just a wee word about Hibs. Played a lot of good football today, as they have done most of the season.
Fletcher is a player (Real Madrid ?).
Beuzelin is a player I would have in the hoops.
But I was impressed by Shields, a player who is playing with a severe handicap (lack of vision in one eye).
However, 3rd spot and UEFA fiba goes to Motherwell.
A big factor in whether the flag stays with us or goes elsewhere now depends on how motivated everybody is in the remaining games.
We shall see what we shall see.

One of the best games of fitba’ I have seen at CP this season. Credit to Hibs, maybe my view of them being a long ba’ team was incorrect. It does make me wonder why they didnae play that way last week against The Huns.
Fletcher looks a player, as does Shiels and I was impressed wie Morais. But….at the back they will be let doon. Whoever told Rob Jones he was a football player needs their heid looked at. He disnae jump, he wrestles and just clatters into center forwards from the back. No football aboot him at all and just constant fouls, which went unpunished on numerous occasions.
He is like a Giraffe wie the co-ordination of Dumbo that has been told to play football or he widnae be getting fed.
We had Arfur to thank at times but that’s what he is paid for. I thought Hartley was immense in the middle of the park and Robson was subdued when compared to his recent performances. Once again we didnae have overlapping fullbacks to help oor wide men (both Willo and Nayls had mares- why no Paul Caddis?) who both had days to forget.
We played a lot of nice stuff, had decent variation in oor play and I thought JVOH played very well in the 2nd half before going of injured.
Still a few worries, but nothing new to worry aboot.
But we have taken it to the last day. After oor March this point seemed impossible.
Nice wee lap of honor from the players, some will be back others won’t and some we don’t want back but it’s always nice to thank the players for their effort. Kudos to the fans today.
I’m physically drained, it’s been emotional for the last few weeks and now I have 11 days before the final wringer……
See newsnow are report….. “Celtic beat 9 man Hibs……”
That was one of the big games of the past few years. A really great result!
The whole second half my mouth was as dry as the Saraha. The second goal took so long and when it did Hibs looked even more lively. The sending offs: First one, Robbo asked the ref not to, the guy had to commit to the tackle.
Second one, get a grip son! Trying to put McGeady in the hospital wasn`t very nice!
We`ve got to the last game and there is a chance, that`s all we could ask. Well done Celts, obviously cheap points have been lost but we can`t do anything about that now.
Well done to Man United! It`s deserved. :-)
Sahara?
Still a bit dry. :-)
I noticed that Dundee United are politically astute enough to mention our team along with the horrible lot. :-) The CQN are going on too much about referee McCurry. Let it go lads, it`s almost summer. :-)
Only two games to concern myself with before the Dundee United match and one of those is a maybe. Portsmouth v Cardiff? The other is in Moscow but may be rubbish. :-(
Forza
Oh aye, SPL Reserve Championees! I`ll take it for now. :-)
