We Did Raise The Flag Yesterday

Now, no matter how bad we were yesterday a small matter, of raising the league flag was completed before the game. After the usual, the now yearly, speech by oor chairman who babbled on aboot money in the bank, eh i must admit i missed most of his speech, why chairmen need to jump on the teams success is beyond me, i mean did he score in the 93rd minute against Killie to win the league?, no but it wisnny the pub that made me late it was an accident on the M74.

The pomp of the official flag raising was bettered for me by the flag show by the Jungle Bhoys who have a few new flags for the new season particularly the, impressive, Henrick Larsson one.
At least there was something decent aboot yesterday.
BBC have managed to find some highlights of the fare served as well

The BBC website managed to find highlights of all the games. This will save me watch Scotsport or Sportscene to see what`s going on.:-)
Praise to Gordon Strachan for being a winning manager.

Praise indeed. Respect is due.

Entertainment though is also the business that football belongs to and that is where we are not delivering, unfortunately.

Agree, agree, agree but it`s not that easy.
2005 AC Milan in Istanbul lose to Liverpool.
2007 AC Milan in Athens beat Liverpool.
In which game did they play the better football?
Hold on, who can remember how they played in 2005?

I know I know Ian - you are right.

I just want my cake and to eat it.

However that example is two fantastic teams that cost near enough the same in mega millions cancelling each other out in the last cup final. You are comparing that to us in the SPl where we are the big fish, 10 to 20 times bigger than most of our competitors.

All I want is to see the bhoys give 100% and play for 90 mins. At present we are lucky to see it for 15 mins a game and that saddens me. It annoys me to see players picking up wages and not seeming to care. Those Hoops mean a lot to so many and all we ask for is 100% effort, unfortunately we are not getting it as often as I like. I have seen it in patches pre-season but we seem incapable of sustaining it for 90 mins.

A reason why I feel a cringe when I go on to the official site is that the club are always wanting our money. As supporters we have a right to look for pure football but I think that we`ve learned that it`s winning football that sustains us all. Professional footy is all about results. The opposition at Celtic home games turn up trying to spoil a game. They don`t care about entertainment. We do but as the game unfolds most settle for a win. Hopefully we`ll see both, sooner rather than later.

when mon arrived or during the 9 in a row era we would have taken winning ugly...we were willing to cast oor ideals into the bin..

now..we hear see much aboot oor yoof system, we sign players who are young wie unfufilled talent, we sign players who are better than the spl...a fact backed up by all oor first team squad would be first picks elsewhere in the spl...

so how come we have only won 9 oot of oor last 23 games..losing and non plussed performances have become a habit..and lack of motivation a factor?

we should be getting both, i'm falkirk fans have ben mair entertained than us recently...
